This section provides information about several of the agencies, groups, and entities that are actively working together to protect Michigan\u2019s food supply.<\/p>\n
Two statewide networks of Michigan food and agricultural stakeholders meet regularly to protect our food supply by creating a better shared understanding of each stakeholder\u2019s perspectives, abilities, and initiatives as well the constraints under which they operate. These are the:<\/p>\n
Michigan\u2019s state and\u00a0<\/span>local public health agencies\u00a0<\/span><\/a>work closely with food regulatory officials and other stakeholders to investigate and prevent potential causes of diseases transmitted by food.<\/p>\n The\u00a0<\/span>Michigan Rapid Response Team\u00a0<\/span><\/a>(MI-RRT) is part of a collaborative national program involving the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and state agencies focused on improving multi-agency responses.<\/p>\n Michigan agencies and entities collaborate to maintain\u00a0<\/span>informational websites<\/a>\u00a0<\/span>that share timely and accurate information about a range of emerging issues of interest to the public including foodborne illness.<\/p>\n A diverse array of\u00a0<\/span>food and agricultural stakeholders<\/a>\u00a0<\/span>collaborate to help ensure we have an abundant, affordable, and safety food supply<\/p>\n
