Michigan’s food and agriculture sector is second only to California in agricultural diversity in the U.S., producing more than 300 commodities on a commercial basis and contributing more than $101 billion to the state’s economy. Michigan is home to more than 140 wineries and 300 micro-breweries.  In Michigan, agriculture, food processors and related businesses employ 22 percent of the state’s workforce.  This diversity has fostered development of effective working relationships between a wide-range of stakeholders.
